Augusta-Richmond
County Community Partnership brings consumers and organizations
together to make decisions locally about what works best in terms
of addressing the needs of children and families in our community. |
Board of Trustees
The Augusta-Richmond County Community
Partnership has a Board
of Trustees comprised of individuals from each of the following
areas: Department of Family and Children Services, Board of Education,
Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, Health Department, local business,
local government, faith community, consumers, and advocates for
children.
Membership Council
The
Membership Council consists of
over 120 partners representing local organizations/agencies, private
citizens, the board of education, local government, churches,
hospitals, community centers, and colleges and universities. Over 130
representatives from these partner agencies/organizations meet
quarterly to discuss issues and accomplishments in the community
concerning children and families. The discussions address gaps in
services, as well as duplication in services and needed systems
change. It is also an opportunity for sharing information and networking.
Each year, one of these meetings is dedicated to
discussing updates for the Five-Year Community Strategic Plan, currently from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2007. The Council is
divided into five committees.
Each committee focuses on a set of benchmark
objectives, established as a result of a community needs assessment
pertaining to the following areas: Child Health, Child Development,
School Success, Family Functioning, and Family Economic Capacity.
The benchmark objectives serve as the basis for the development of the community's Strategic Plan. For
each benchmark objective, baseline conditions and strategies
are identified by the assigned committees. Furthermore, the partners
declare what roles they will assume and make commitments in particular
areas to ensure that services, programs and activities are available
for consumers.
