The Membership Council operates through five major committees: Child
Health, Child Development, School Success, Family Functioning, and
Family Economic Capacity. The committees meet separately on a regular
basis to discuss strategies and activities which address a specific area
of concern. The committees then develop a comprehensive plan (updated
yearly) according to the needs of the community and make recommendations
to the Board of Trustees.
Child Health Committee
Benchmark Goals
- To
reduce the infant mortality and low birth weight rate.
- - To reduce the teen
pregnancy rate.
- - To reduce the alcohol,
tobacco, and illegal drug use rate among children.
Child Development Committee
Benchmark Goals
- To increase the number of children who will complete an early child
development program, either in a preschool or child care setting.
- To reduce the percentage of students who are two or more years overage in the 3rd grade.
- To increase the percentage of kindergarten students who pass the GKAP-R.
School Success Committee
Benchmark Goal
- To increase the percentage of students who graduate from high school
on time.
Family Functioning Committee

- - To reduce the rate of
confirmed incidents of child abuse and neglect.
- - To reduce the arrest rate
among juveniles.
Family Economic Capacity
